Chelley Patterson is a trusted change consultant, innovative program designer, engaging facilitator, and insightful executive coach with a proven ability to ask game-changing questions, collaborate, and deliver exceptional results. She brings a distinctive mix of real-world business experience, firm grasp of evidence-based people and organizational development theories, and creative exploration and facilitation skills to the Seven Summits Consulting’s Team. She blends a researcher’s eye for data, a coach’s listening and compassion, and a strategist’s whole system’s approach. This helps clients illuminate the dynamics that interfere with their progress and those that catalyze success so they can get laser focused on purposeful goals and enabling actions. Chelley recently rolled off a multi-year consulting contract with Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team where she consulted on an operating model transformation, coached high potential leaders at the top three levels, conducted individual style and culture assessment and feedback sessions, and developed and deployed a unifying values-based team building workshop series in the AMER, EMEA and APAC regions.

An Ohio native, Chelley did her BBA at Ohio University before exploring jobs in advertising and executive recruiting. In her late twenties, she entered graduate school to earn her MS in Strategic HR and Organizational Behavior (OB), where she discovered her true calling in the OB field. After finishing her PhD in OB in 1995 at Georgia State University, Chelley worked for NCR, a Fortune 500 omni-channel tech solutions company. There she managed a program in the Innovation Services group focused on fostering creativity in engineering teams around the globe, was part of a Human Interface Technology Center team in Atlanta designing computer-based workplace assessment & training, was recruited to serve as a collaboration subject matter expert at the Knowledge Lab in London, was certified as a Change Management practitioner, and became a member of NCR’s global change management community-of-practice. She later directed the Talent Development functions for two tech companies — Vanstar and NASCO (a BlueCross Blue Shield company) – which included attending strategic retreats and being invited to work on the Balanced Scorecard strategy task force. Maintaining ties to academia while working in industry, she served for three years on Harvard’s Innovation Research Group TEAM project, the results of which are reported in the 2011 book The Progress Principle

In the last 15 years of her career, Chelley has leveraged her cumulative knowledge & experience in her work as an external consultant with clients across industries ranging from airlines, architecture, commercial construction & general contracting, energy, fintech, healthcare, higher education, real estate & facilities, and technology. This included 6 years (2017-2023) as a Principal Consultant for New Legends, a boutique consulting firm based in the Pacific Northwest focusing on the intersection between culture, leadership, strategy, and execution; and 8 years (2009-2017) assisting with startup and serving as a Director & Principal Consultant at the Center for Leadership & Strategic Thinking, a self-funded consulting, coaching, and ideation center in UW’s Foster School of Business. She stays connected with UW as a guest lecturer in their Certificate in Change Management program.

Clients appreciate Chelley’s compassion, positivity, and wit, paired with an ability to translate science-based approaches into practical business solutions in a combination that spans the playfully creative to the seriously analytical. She treasures free time with her adult children, two dogs, and friends & neighbors. She stays fit and happy doing yoga, tap dance, horse- and bike riding, paddle boarding, and boating.
