Andy Anderson is an experienced financial consultant specializing in small to medium sized businesses that have the desire and means to grow. With his direct experience in the basic tenants of business, education in financial requirements, application of business methods, and the integration of business data and business decisions, Andy uses his knowledge to offer sound strategic advice to owners/managers. Priority is given to creating a good foundation to support and foster growth and providing decision makers the right education and information to make smart and strategic business decisions and to measure performance with key indicators.

A life-long Northwest native, Andy attended and graduated from the business school at Portland State University. Upon passing the CPA exam, he went to work as a staff accountant at a small, local CPA firm and learned the “real” world of accounting and tax. The following year, Andy leveraged his gained experience and took a position as staff accountant with Moss Adams and moved up the ranks to supervisor. Moss Adams provided good opportunities to work with various multi-national companies such as Epson along with other smaller market companies. Later, Andy took a position in the Moss Adams’ management consulting division to develop an emerging business practice in Portland. After a few years, he stepped into the entrepreneurial world and purchased a small accounting and tax practice, specializing in small to medium size businesses’ tax, accounting, and business needs. After several successful years, Andy took advantage of the market and sold his practice and, with a partner, purchased a manufacturing company in the nutritional supplement industry. It is in this venture that he gained significant business experience in all things non-accounting since marketing, formulations, production, procurement, and personnel were his focus. After exiting from the industry, Andy took a position with a medium size business in the non-hazardous wastewater industry to assist in the growth, guidance, and process of registering its shares for public funding, including developing information flow to meet the Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for publicly traded companies. Andy then accepted a CFO position with a large commercial roofing company, having multiple locations and operating lines. It was there that he was able to apply previous experiences to help manage the significant growth of the company through organic means, acquisitions, and new start-ups. The successful growth was the result of a talented management team. The focus was on developing a strategic plan and goals, a relentless attention to implementing actions to achieve those goals, and an emerging culture that allowed employees to learn, manage, be self-accountable, and benefit from their success of their actions.

For the past few years, Andy has been consulting with several businesses and private equity groups on selling, purchasing, transitioning, and integrating business transactions. He has also been involved in developing and implementing growth strategies for companies in the construction, transportation, manufacturing, and service industries with an emphasis on strategy development, business infrastructure analysis and changes, and encouraging a culture that rewards a transition of information to successful actions.

In Andy’s personal life, he loves to travel internationally, he is actively involved with his family, tries to play golf, and serves on several not-for-profit boards.  He is also very involved in Rotary, serving as club president, district treasurer and is recognized as a Rotary Zone budgeting expert.
